Meeting Rescheduled
The Marion County Board of Elections meeting scheduled for
Tuesday, October 27, 2009 has been rescheduled for
Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 6:00pm at the Board of
Elections office.
Absentee Ballots For General Election
Now Available
Absentee Ballots for the November 3rd, 2009 General Election
are now available at the Board of Elections office.
Absentees may be voted at the board office during regular
hours Monday thru Friday. They may also be requested to be
mailed. This request must be in writing and can be mailed to
the board office 222 W. Center St. Marion, Oh 43302.
Request must be signed by the voter. And must provide the
birth date and one of the following:
Your Ohio driver’s license number,
or the last four digits of your social security number,
or copy of a current and valid photo identification, a
current utility bill, bank statement, government check,
paycheck or other government document that shows your name
and address. No phone requests are accepted.
Voters hospitalized on Election Day because of medical
emergency may apply for absentee ballots until 3:00 p. m.
election day. Voters in rehabilitation facilities are
encouraged to request absentee ballots prior to Election
Day.
Nursing homes in the area have been notified of the
availability of board personnel to absentee vote their
residents prior to Election Day.
Absentee ballots, of other than out of country voters must
be received at the board office by 7:30 p.m. election day.
Out of the country civilian and armed services absentee
ballots must be postmarked before close of the polls Nov 6
and received by the board of election by Nov 16.
Board of Elections is opened 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m
weekdays, and will be open 8:30 to 12:00 on Saturday October
31st for absentee voting.
Deadline for voter registration for the November 3, 2009
General Election is October 5th.
The Board of Elections office will be open until 9:00 p.m.
for voter registration on this day.
For Voters Recieving Their Mail in a Post Office Box

The Marion County Board
of Elections is requesting that all registered voters
receiving their mail in a post office box to please contact
the board of elections at their earliest convenience.
Although registration must be at a physical address the
Board also needs the mailing address. Any communication sent
to the voters from the Board of Elections is being returned
as some villages do not have mail carriers. This may include
but is not limited to residents of Caledonia, Green Camp, La
Rue, New Bloomington and Prospect.
A notice of election will be mailed in the next few months
and before it is mailed the Board is working on updating
their files to assure that the voters receive this notice.

8:30 am to 4:30 pm. at 740-223-4090. The Board office is
located at 222 West Center St, Marion.
Pleasant Township Precinct News
At its February
26, 2007 board meeting the Marion County Board of
Elections, voted unanimously to move Pleasant Township
Precincts A, B, C, D, E, and F from the
Pleasant Senior Citizens
Building, its current voting location, to Berean Baptist Church, at 131
Marion-Cardington Road East.
Within the next several weeks Pleasant Township voters will be receiving a notice
notifying them of the change. This move will be
effective with the May 8, 2007 Primary Election.

ID Requirements
Notice to all
voters:
Voters must
bring identification to the polls in order to verify
identity. Identification may include a current and valid
photo identification, a military identification that shows
the voter's name and current address, or a copy of a current
utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or
other government document, other than this reminder or a
voter registration notification that shows the voter's name
and current address. Voters who do not provide one of these
documents will still be able to vote by providing the last
for digits of the voter's social security number and by
casting a provisional ballot. voters who do not have any of
the above forms of identification, including a social
security number, will still be able to vote by signing an
affirmation swearing to the voter's identity under penalty
of election falsification and by casting a provisional
ballot.
WHOEVER COMMITS ELECTION FALSIFICATION IS GUILTY OF
A FELONY OF THE FIFTH DEGREE.
