Voting Location Changes
Voters in
precincts 3C, 3D, 3E, 3F, and 3G who previously voted at
Oakland United Methodist Church will no cast their ballots
at Fite Memorial Baptist Church at 497 Davids St.
Absentee Ballots for Primary Election Now Available
Absentee
ballots for the May 4th, 2010 Primary Election are now
available at the Board of Elections office.
Absentees may
be voted at the board office during regular hours Monday
thru Friday. They may also be requested to be mailed. This
request must be in writing and can be mailed to the board
office at 222 W. Center St., Marion, Ohio 43302.
Request must
be signed by the voter. Voters must provide date of birth
and one of the following:

Your Ohio
driver's license number
-
or the
last four digits of your social security number,
-
or a copy
of a current and valid photo identification, a current
utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck
or other government document that shows your name and
address.
No phone
requests are accepted.
Voters
hospitalized on Election Day because of medical emergency
may apply for absentee ballots until 3:00 p.m. Election Day.
Voters in rehabilitation facilities are encouraged to
request absentee ballots prior to Election Day.
Nursing homes
in the area have been notified of the availability of board
personnel to absentee vote their residents prior to Election
Day.
Absentee
ballots, other than out of country voters, must be received
at the board office by 7:30 p.m. Election Day.
Board of
Elections is open 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. weekdays, and
will be open 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 1st
for absentee voting.
Identification Requirements
Notice to all
voters:
Voters must
bring identification to the polls in order to verify
identity. Identification may include a current and valid
photo identification, a military identification that shows
the voter's name and current address, or a copy of a current
utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or
other government document, other than this reminder or a
voter registration notification that shows the voter's name
and current address. Voters who do not provide one of these
documents will still be able to vote by providing the last
for digits of the voter's social security number and by
casting a provisional ballot. voters who do not have any of
the above forms of identification, including a social
security number, will still be able to vote by signing an
affirmation swearing to the voter's identity under penalty
of election falsification and by casting a provisional
ballot.
WHOEVER COMMITS ELECTION FALSIFICATION IS GUILTY OF
A FELONY OF THE FIFTH DEGREE.
