The Marion County Board of Elections voted at its August Regular Meeting, held on August 16th at 4PM, to close and consolidate two of our existing polling places for the upcoming November 7, 2017 General Election and all future elections.
The Morral Township Hall polling place will be consolidated into the existing Elgin Administration Building polling place located at 4616 Larue Prospect Road West. This consolidation will affect voters in the Grand-Salt precinct.
The Propsect Senior Center polling place will be consolidated into the existing Cornerstone Alliance Church polling place located at 2010 Marion-Marysville Road. This consolidation will affect voters in the Prospect Village and Prospect Township precincts. Notifications will be mailed to each registered voter in these three precincts over the next two weeks.
We would like to remind voters that they can vote early in person in the Board Office, located in the Marion County Building, starting Wednesday, October 11th. Voters can also request absentee ballots any time during the same calendar year as the election in which they wish to vote by mail. Voters can call the board of elections office at 740-223-4090 and ask for an absentee ballot request be sent to them. Once they fill out the request and mail it back to the board office, their ballot will be sent by mail beginning approximately three weeks before the election.
